Rihanna Lets Her Oversized Wool Coat Do the Talking

She paid tribute to her sons while enjoying some pasta

Rihanna knows how to have a good time. For her, it’s less about the destination and more about the company (as if that wasn’t already obvious by her candid Instagram posts, the lyrics of “James Joint,” and her feeling a “vibe” during the interview for her recent Harper’s Bazaar cover story).

While others were partying it up in clubs or lounges, the star relied on an old favorite to spice up her Saturday night. In her usual glamour, she stepped out in Santa Monica, California for dinner at Giorgio Baldi, an Italian restaurant she’s been said to eat at up to three times a week. Of course, those familiar with Rihanna know she eats every time she leaves the house—and we’re not talking about ordering a plate.

Before sitting down to devour some ravioli and gnocchi, Rih appeased hungry fans with her own delicious serving. Taking a cue from her archive of winter looks, she allowed her oversized black wool coat to do most of the talking, showing off the design’s exaggerated collars and structure. Below, she slipped into a pair of pointed black boots, while she carried a mini Fendi bag in hand, taking care to show off the furry brown charm attached to her purse.

For the occasion, Rihanna went with a glam that was all business, slicking her hair back into a ponytail to keep her hair out of her face (and out of her entrées). Dewy skin, a glazed chocolate lip, and groomed brows gave her a glistening look, while chunky diamond-embedded hoops only added to her natural radiance.

The Fenty mogul enjoyed a solo night out at the Italian restaurant, and she seemed to have time to share some photos in between courses. To celebrate International Women’s Day—other than relishing a (singular) girl’s night out—Rihanna took to Instagram, posting a tribute to herself and her family.

In the first photo, she cuddles up with a newborn RZA, while the second photo shows her wearing pink sunglasses and holding a newborn Riot Rose. “by far the most powerful thing I’ve ever done as a woman…my little miracles! #InternationalWomensDay,” she captioned the photos of her and her sons. “And yes I gave birth in pearls and sunglasses…don’t ask, a lot was happening,” she concluded.
